She does, in fact, keep her hair clipped up in a high ponytail. It does not look terribly pumpkin-y. She keeps it clipped up because it's a steadier hairstyle than a normal ponytail while still looking okay (she's pretty vain) and so it doesn't fly everywhere when she is doing stupid actiony things.

How much of a troublemaker was Tatsuki before she got bounced to the past.

NOT AS MUCH, honestly. In hitting the past, she has sort of seen it as her SUPERHERO ORIGIN STORY and figures this must be HER DEBUT. caps lock absolutely necessary. She was still pretty wild but she's sort of approaching her life like it's a story, and she is of the belief that since it is a hero story, this must be the first chapters where she is kicking ass and establishing herself as a real HERO. Before that, she hadn't really had that feeling, so instead of being... her, she was focused on BECOMING STRONGER, and also figuring out how to be a badass lady hero.

Who the hell could beat Jinn? How did that even happen?

How does the Akihara family work. Does it even have a concrete tree or do you just change it based on who you wanna be.

I add things when it becomes interesting or necessary, but once something is placed, it is more or less set in stone.

Ryuuji and Neneko's parents are currently divorced, with their mother an OL for some company and their father a tech writer currently working in Germany. (Neneko actually lived with him for a few years before returning to Japan.)

It's never been mentioned in DA, I think, but they also have a cousin (dad's brother's daughter) in America, who is so bubbly and hyperactive that she manages to terrify both Ryuuji and Neneko.

IN THE FUTURE Ryuuji has a kid (the mother is undecided as of now) and that kid is Tatsuki. Neneko's fate is a mystery (she gets some sort of happy ending though).

So yeah, I don't worry too much about what isn't set, but what is set is eternal.

What about the Naoma family? Do you keep a solid list of who is who?

I do, but I very rarely add to it, there's only 6 and most of them are backstory, so.

Are the Akihara's just supernatural being magnets, or what? There seems to be something giant and horrible stapled to all of them.

What is up with Saiga's hair. I know you have an explanation for how her hair is two-toned.

I have actually gone through multiple explanations. WAY BACK WHEN when she was supposed to have a special spirit connection and have that be an Important Thing, the two-toned hair was supposed to just be a physical tell for that- Since she's close to two worlds, her hair splits into two as well, except in a way that looks cool when you sketch it. At one point, it was just because her mom has black hair and her dad has gray-white hair. At this point, I'm leaning towards a mix of the two explanations.

Talk to me about Samasu genetics. Are they ever normal height? Is there some sort of legendary Samasu in the past who actually reached a full 5'4, equaling the legendary giant Tooks Pippin and Merryweather, spoken of among the current generation in hushed whispers?

You're absolutely terrible.

To be honest, while there is the whole running joke about the Samasus being short, there are quite a few taller Samasus-- Seku himself is actually around... 5'8"-5'10", due to European genetics squashing out the Japanese ones. I'm never very specific, I should use a height chart one day.

The average probably actually is more around 5'5"-5'6" for most of them. Suguru's hilariously the tallest out of all of the ones I currently have at a good 5'7". Setsuo and Shinji are the shortest at around 5'1". As for the first two I've ever had-- Shikou and Souha, they middle around 5'3", though Souha is, at this point, slightly taller than Shikou for reasons.

What about Tatsuki? I always imagine her to be a tiny thing. Is she actually? Will she ever get to be tall enough that one can't simply stop her from beating someone up by holding her back at arm's reach?

Akiharas are, and always have been, late growers! I believe I said Ryuuji was roughly 5'6-5'8 until he turned 19-ish, at which point he hit 6'4 before he turned 20. (Neneko, for the curious, goes from roughly 4'11-5'1 to 5'10, and gets pretty damn attractive.)

Tatsuki is in the same vein, I think I put her at roughly 5'1-5'3 for now, and she's gonna remain that way for a good while, then just when you think it's too late for her to ever grow anymore, she'll shoot straight up to 6'0. Of course, that won't happen for several years yet, so we're safe for the foreseeable future.

So what exactly happened with the Samasus and the UOF?

Well thank heavens for that, last thing we need is a 6-foot girl being able to pound everyone into the ground.

Basically you're asking how it resolved? Let's start in the beginning, at least in terms of UOF's plans and how it started: Basically, there was a family who dabbled in occult stuff and demon summoning cause they felt like they should be the ones who lorded over everyone. They were really bad at the whole demon thing though but finally managed to get UOF's attention. So he gave them power and whatnot in exchange for servitude when they were dead and made them all go kinda crazy.

UOF's main intention though was to build up a MASSIVE army to perform a coup upon the Archfiend family in Makai, and had actually been beaten back before at one time. He decided though that with all of the recent activity in Domino and the whole collecting of souls to turn into his monster army was going too slow, that he'd try to get other people under his power and speed up the process. So he sent some servants ahead to make him appear in Domino cause he was literally too large to fit through the dimensional rip.

The Archfiends were really smart though and realized, oh crap, UOF's doing something again, and sent along Archfiend of Gilfer (who I might use again one day cause he was so hammy it was wonderful) to investigate things, and dragged in some folks (Juudai, Shiyoko, Sanshi) to take care of things. And then Sanshi and Juudai literally obliterated UOF and left him with only his soul hanging around.

And then Noriko, being a woman of opportunity, essentially went "yoink" and took the soul, and as a result, the cosmic contract that was on all of the Samasus. For all purposes, UOF is dead, and none of the Samasus have to worry about Noriko doing what UOF planned-- namely wearing away at their will and consciousness while turning them into monsters once they ended up in what was basically hell. A good majority of the servants that were under him passed on as a result of it, cause she gave them the opportunity to do so, and most any of the ones currently around take care of Noriko's mansion in Domino.

So, how's Misaki's business doing? Does Setsuo still work for her? It's always weird when characters go into what is essentially limbo and there's a connection.

SORRY ABOUT THAT yeah, Misaki's business is pretty much fine, it is never going anywhere ever, and Setsuo still works for her unless you've wanted to change that. I've been meaning to come back and do a card ramble, but most of the important cards lately are Numbers, and I can't really do a review ramble on those things because Plot. There aren't really any spinoffs to make fun of anymore either. Maybe I'll do something with Duel Terminal.

So, what's the deal with Samasu powers now? Will new Samasus still get superpowers, or now that Noriko's got it, is that done?

It was back in the day when Kanna was around. She was trying to get over Juudai since Juudai was taken and Kanna was there and nice and hit Saiga in the dere buttons.

SAIGA IS THE BAD DECISION DINOSAUR QUEEN she would seriously consider a real relationship there because Yasu's nice, accepting, they get along well, and all that. She has no clue how to do dating things so she is trying to figure it out as she goes along, but she likes Yasu a lot.

TELL ME ABOUT HOW ERLAND IS FEELING ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL HOOKUP.

Conflicted, pretty much obviously. He likes both Saiga and Yasu, and though he pursued Saiga to some extent in the past, he's mostly accepted that they don't really have that much chemistry. On the other hand, he's found he has a lot of chemistry with Yasu, who currently tops Erland's list of 'ones that got away'. So while Saiga/Yasu is hot, and has a decent amount of potential in various ways, he's more likely to be a direct rival to Saiga than anything.

...man, I don't really know who you play anymore, you need to make a list. Uh. Does Tatsuki like the idea of having an enemy? And how about Hikari, what is she up to?

Saiga, Misaki, Tatsuki is pretty much the list now.

Tatsuki likes the idea of having an enemy more than actually having one, if that makes sense. She is a HERO and she WINS, or at least that is how it works in her head, but Erland demonstrated pretty handily that her 'run in flailing' strategy is not really that great. She would have liked it a lot more if she had won that, but Erland won that and got away, so she is feeling pretty humiliated by that, and that is not even close to fun. SHE WILL WIN NEXT TIME. (spoilers: she won't.)

Hikari's off in Tokyo at either some sort of advanced med school, or already getting a doctoring license. PUTTIN' HORRIBLE DEATH SUPERPOWERS TO GOOD USE.

Does Erland ever still get Erebus-y urges, or is he entirely divorced from that past now?

Oh boy. Erland is actually getting more and more tempted as the days go by. He isn't to the point that he'd go full-out Erebus again, having his girls does keep him grounded enough for that, but as the bout with Tatsuki, and the whole deal with the ritual cult thing, Erland is definitely not done with urges yet. He's actually gearing up to an extent, and having Dark Mist around hasn't helped those urges at all...

I think it's been said, but would Tatsuki be aware of herself at all if the cuffs and such were removed? Would she have access to any portion of the power if only part of the seal was broken?

The seal is basically an all-or-nothing function. If part of it is broken, the other parts try to use the now-unused power to power the fuck up and keep shit sealed anyway. This works somewhat- It is an incredibly temporary measure, and is basically there to keep shit restrained while someone who can comes and repairs the broken seal. On the other hand, if this happens and no one comes to fix it, it's basically got a gaping hole in it and throwing all of its power into that hole, so it's just going to wear and erode itself away faster.

If the seal came off, no, Tatsuki really wouldn't know any of it. From her point of view, it would basically feel like she was asleep and having a really hazy bad dream. She wouldn't be aware of anything past a vague feeling of unrest and unhappiness, but be too fogged and hazy to understand any of it.

Other than the Saiga and Yasu thing, is Erland looking to add anyone else to his harem? Who all is in it?

Do you plan to have Tatsuki move beyond the "I'm not in the past" thing at some point? It seems like a one trick pony that can only be ridden so far before she becomes dead weight.

At this point, she's already mostly accepted it, she just doesn't want to admit it to huge jerkfaces. Because that involves admitting she was wrong and fuck that shit.

You've played a shitton of characters. Who do you miss the most?

What an arrogant lil'...

Awayoko. Never felt she was developed really well and I generally was not fond of how the plot she was in worked out. Fun character stuff for people, but. That plot never felt up to my standards.

Eisei. I kind of miss Gemu and him, and that never felt properly resolved. Sigh.

Brron, because he was the world's biggest troll, and I loved that.

Ha Des. I liked how a lot of that stuff turned out, but Ha Des feels like he should be a bigger, badder thing. Ironically, he'd of been a nice substitute for my current bad guys. Ah well.

Also Saiou and Ryou. And Fujiwara. I liked having AU Canon stuff, but with the drop of everyone but Juudai, Asuka and Ruka from canons, it's pretty much an OC Pool Party, and oh well.

So are Tatsuki and her Number going to get used at some point?

They SHOULD eventually, but unfortunately, I may have made it too difficult to summon. I can rarely find a time where I can summon it when I wouldn't have been better off summoning, say, Omega and Beehive. But I like the 4 thematic I've got going there, so I'll just deal with it.

How are the Numbers going so far? I've sort of derped out on plot here for a while.

Shikou holds somewhere near 10 Numbers. (Brilliant, The Gimmick Puppets, Leviathan Dragon, Blackship of Corn, Volcasaurus, Freezerdon, Thunder Spark Dragon, IIRC)

Shiroko and Shiyoko have been brainwashed by Susan into being Number Hunters so she can have more power when she uses Dyson Sphere to mass brainwash the Earth for petty veto dumb things reasons.

Yuri has Force Focus and Acid Golem plus an original number created for Rekka.

Kirihita got canned because Togepi's schedule went to Egg Hell. Juudai's doing. Something.

Shinji has Galaxy Queen.

Shian has Akuma's custom number.

Linka has Number 12.

Number 9 is planned to be coming to earth.

And I want to save 8 and 69 for a character when the plot begins to tie up.

So, what physical attributes turn Saiga and Tatsuki on. Any kinks or fetishes?

Not particularly, especially in Tatsuki's case. It's kinda hard to get into kinky things when you have what is essentially a medical collar/cuffs combo on forever. Saiga is more attracted to the kind of mind who can be amusingly misanthropic with her, less physical attributes, and Tatsuki doesn't really think about attraction because she's too wrapped up in herself.
